In Sudan’s capital city, Khartoum, where conflict has raged between rival militaries since last April, Mohamed Hassan Dahab, the country’s minister of higher education, spoke to our correspondent about the war’s impact on the country’s universities and the damage to higher education in general. And as the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip continues, along with other acts of violence across the West Bank, Mahmoud Abu Mwais, Palestine’s minister of higher education, spoke to us from Ramallah, in the West Bank, on the International Day of Education.
