Dear Friend, Zakat Foundation of America's CEO, Mr. Halil Demir, is in Mali visiting partners, overseeing programs and most importantly meeting beneficiaries. Mali has been marked by armed internal conflict since 2012 causing widespread displacement to the south, straining resources, and worsening food shortages. Despite a peace accord, internal conflicts continue, impacting protection, economy, and health, and limiting humanitarian access.  Zakat Foundation helped thousands of Malian people through the successful implementation of 6 programs that address the ongoing food crisis, health care needs, water scarcity and much more! The Malian people need your support now more than ever! Help Mali Exploring Mali's Communities and Inspiring Change Mr. Demir with the Minister of Health, Dr. (Colonel) Toure Assa Badiallo (center), Zakat Foundation Health Advisor Mrs. Donna Demir, and Programs Coordinator Selma Demir. Through it's Health & Wellbeing program in Bamako, Zakat Foundation is partnering with five health centers. Mr. Demir visited ASACODIAN, ASACO-Benkadi, and ANIASCO, where your support has provided medical equipment, supplies, and funds leading to significant improvements in deliveries, consultations, and prenatal care, bringing hope and transformation to those in need. Mr. Demir holds an adorable orphaned girl from the Dembagnouma Djôyôrô orphanage in Bamako, which houses about 300 children. Zakat Foundation's support has been vital in sustaining the orphanage's operations and helping care for the children in need. Mr. Demir distributed 240 bags of rice to beneficiaries of the Malian Association of Physically Handicapped People. Zakat Foundation's pilot food distribution program began here on March 18, 2023, to alleviate food crisis and social insecurity by monthly food kits for 100 disadvantaged families, with hopes of expansion.
