Dear Zakat Foundation Supporter, Assalamu 'alaykum On 8 October, three appeals from Zakat Foundation of America to help victims of Gaza facing the most dramatic humanitarian calamity there in two decades mysteriously and wrongly contained inappropriate images and language, whether deliberately or technically, misrepresenting me, personally, and your Zakat Foundation. I accept full responsibility for the wrongful release of these erroneous representations. Since 2002, a year after our inception, Zakat Foundation has supported the downtrodden innocent suffering of Gaza and the West Bank with millions of dollars of lifesaving humanitarian aid – nutritious food, drinkable water, medical supplies and treatment (including individualized cancer treatment support and far-reaching mental health programs for sick and traumatized Palestinian children), rebuilding demolished and damaged homes, sponsoring educational programs, building greenhouses for the hungry of Gaza, and much more – in partnership with UNRWA, the UN organization for Palestinian refugees, as well as local humanitarian organizations. Our Zakat Foundation of America team on the ground, sponsored hospitals and doctors, and humanitarian partners have been working to help the thousands of injured and hundreds of thousands of displaced. During this frighteningly intensifying humanitarian catastrophe at this time, we are staging relief supplies to deliver your unwavering humanitarian help for all its innocent victims – children, women, the elderly, and families – as soon as a humanitarian corridor is opened, which we pray will be very soon.
